TGIF – Volume 3
Should you notice that we haven’t blogged in a while, it would be a mistake to assume that it’s because we have nothing to blog about. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Though wedding season has been winding down, we’ve been bombarded by family portraits for holiday photos and meetings with clients for next year. We’re booking up fast for 2009 and it’s hard to believe our little studio opened it’s doors less than a year ago!
So.. blogs are coming. In fact, we’re going to try to do one-a-day until we get caught up (which will be more than a few)! We figured we’d start with a TGIF post, though. We’ve had a bunch of client meetings in the last couple of weeks, and lots of people ask us what we shoot when we’re not shooting weddings. The funny thing is, our personal photography is very much in line with the stuff we do professionally.
We take pictures of people.
Here are a few photos from the last couple of weeks that we took without an appointment. We think you’ll find there’s not a thick line drawn between our personal and professional tastes…

Lizette and Kerry’s wedding was unbelievable. It was this weekend on the rooftop of the St. James Hotel in San Diego. The theme was based loosely around old silent movie stars, and everyone wore black & white. We approached shooting the wedding with the theme in mind, and really love the dreamy aesthetic.
We’ve neeever blogged this many images from an event.. but it was just way to hard to pick favorites this time around. So we figured, why not throw a bunch of them up!? Can’t wait to go through the entire wedding!
We had a blast this weekend, and made a lot of really incredible friends. It’s likely we’ll post more soon from this one…

Nick and Joy
Mel second-shot for Erica Nathanson of Parker’s Pictures last weekend, at the beautiful Salerno Winery in Ramona. Mel came home raving about Kurt, and his business Concept Catering by CK. The meal was amazing, and they took care of everything from the food, to the table settings, to the flower pedals on the aisle! We’re hoping we’ll get the chance to work with them again in the very near future.
Congratulations Nick and Joy! Here are a few of Mel’s snaps from your day…
