You might have noticed the new logo that started popping up in blog posts. We've got lots of changes planned for the site, and we're starting to roll them out piece-by-piece. The logo's a huge part of that, and we were lucky enough to be introduced to an amazing designer. Ben Hansen currently lives in a wedding cake somewhere in Austin, Texas. He gets all tingly when you talk to him about fonts and paper stock and letterpress, and his hobbies include making children and talking to Mr. and Mrs. Goodnickels on iChat AV.

You should hire him immediately.

So yeah. How rad is that? RAD. Like, lots.

We'll be sharing some of the other stuff Ben's working on for us as we get things done. We should also mention that we found Ben through our good friend Lou Mora. Lou's a really great commercial & editorial photographer who once made us famous by using us as (incredibly attractive) sunglass models in a fashion spread. For real. Check our facebooks. I think we've got the scans up there.

Mr. and Mrs. Goodnickels are not landscape photographers. Landscapes don't give toasts, drink (spill) beers, touch their own faces a little too much, kiss foreheads, or run their fingers through their hair while reflectively gazing in search of the right word to use to describe the way that song makes them feel.

We just don't know what to do with a landscape. We require eyebrows (of the furrowed, or furrow-able, variety).

That said, if it's been raining and the light is ridiculous - we're only human. We'll pull the car dangerously (barely) off the side of the road and make some frames of whatever the perfect post-storm light feels like bouncing off of... Thankfully, we've walked through enough pricey shopping malls to know that, in this particular situation, you're to find a worn-wooden dock, play rigid geometry off of chaotic fluffiness, and ask for ten thousand dollars.

That will be ten thousand dollars. (We take paypal!)

There was only one dock, though, so we had to get down the only way we know how.

We'd like it to rain (and then stop) a whole lot more.

Tracy and Eddie are a blast. For their engagement session, we bounced around Mission Beach for a bit. None of us had been down there in quite some time, but it's more or less how we remembered it. Lots of fun stuff to check out. We stuffed them in a cab, played on the swings, introduced them to shaved ice with ice cream at the bottom (amazing), and generally had a wacky time.
