Chances are, you've never been to a wedding like Alex + Pat's-- I don't think I had ever seen so people ready to get down and dirty (literally-- there was silly string involved, but you'll have to wait for Part 3 to see those shenanigans). It all made for a really fabulous time of laughter and booty shaking... which makes for awesome pictures, if I do say so myself!
Alex + Pat were married at The Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, an absolutely stunning and unique venue. I love all the silly details (along with the elegant and vintage-inspired ones as well) that this couple put into their wedding. From the get-go, there was a little good-ol'-fashioned rivalry here, as the bride went to school at Stanford and law school at Harvard and the groom attended UCLA and now USC for grad school... During dinner, when usually things are a little quiet, all the guests at different tables were doing their schools' cheers (even back to high school, where Alex + Pat met), which got pretty rowdy. And they had sunglasses for their friends and family that said either "I love me some Pat" or "I love me some Alex." Needless to say, everyone was very excited to celebrate with this amazing couple (yes, those are noise makers that their guests blew when Pat + Alex were announced as husband and wife), and their wedding was so unbelievably fun. The love these two share is blatantly obvious, and the love their friends and family have for them is just as strong. We were honored to be in the midst of such an open, caring, and party-loving group of people. Congrats, Alex + Pat-- we love you guys!
I've been working on blogging more details to give ideas to our future brides. Here is the list of awesome vendors Alex + Pat hired for their big day:
